I have always thought that the hardest job someone can have is to be a farmer or a Gardner. It just takes so much patience. The funny thing is, that people in my life always tell me that I am so patient. I mean, I am, but being patient for a living, not my idea of a good time.
When a farmer plants their seed there are so many other things that come into play. They can not just pick any random spot, drop the seed in the ground and walk away. The soil has to be ripe and ready, they must know what kind of seed they are planting and what it will need to grow. In order for any successful crop to be brought forward the person planting it must be intentional.
The same goes for watering someone else’s garden. If the farmer spends more time worrying about what is happening in someone else’s field they tend to neglect their own. When a seed is planted they must protect it to bring forth a harvest, there are always things that are trying to destroy the field and prevent the seeds from growing.
Our lives are a lived a lot like this. God gives us seeds and we must be the farmers who are intentional with them. We can tell where we are by the harvest that is being manifested by the previous seeds in our life. Every seed that we have planted may not bloom, or it may take a while to ever see some growth. We can also plant seeds that a rotten. That may sound bad, but it is the truth, we can plant something that we do not have the capacity for and wonder why we do not see any growth. You can not grow a palm tree in the middle of your living room. There is nothing wrong with the seed, but the soil in which it is planted. Even though it will grow, it does not have the capacity to fully bloom.
Do you have dead plants in your life? Are you wondering why no matter how much you water them they seem to be stagnant or dying? Look around, what are you feeding the seeds you are sowing? Are you protecting them from the enemy? Are they planted in good soil? Will this seed benefit someone other than yourself?
I have had to ask myself these hard questions time and time again. Thankfully I am in a place of growth and blooming, but it hasn’t always been that way and it can be discouraging if you are plowing away and not seeing any return. Did you know that it can take some plants over a decade to grow? If you are walking in your purpose and being obedient, be patient, your garden is coming.
