Last minute God
It’s so easy to say that we want what God has for us, and we want it on his timing, when things are going our way. But have you ever been in the position of believing God for something and it just seems like he is taking his sweet time?
I would love to say that I am a person who just walks in blind faith all the time, but I am not. I ask God a lot of questions, I like to remind him of what I want (as if he needs a reminder) and sometimes I can find myself doubting if what I heard was really God or not. I am human, and at times I have to remind myself that God THANKFULLY is not.
The funny thing is I can imagine God just shaking his head at me. There has never been a time that something God truly promised me did not come to pass…I mean NEVER. BUt also, I had to come to point to realize what was a God promise and what was a strong personal hope because sometimes those two don't always intertwine ( But that's for another blog). Even when it looked dim, even when other people doubted me, even when I wondered if it was truly for me because it wasn’t easy. There has been moments where I have been minutes away from needing God to come thru and he does. Any time where I felt like God had forgotten me the situation always ended up turning out for my good.
I know that with God, timing is everything. The right thing at the wrong time turns out to not be so right after all. In one of my favorite T.D. Jakes sermons he talks about giving a young child keys to a car. It’s not that driving is bad, but giving the keys to a child who can-not read or comprehend how to drive can be devastating for anyone involved. How often do we cause harm to the people around us because we want to do things on our own?
I have learned over time, that I am tired of having those moments with God. I am tired of contacting him on the back end trying to figure out where everything went wrong because of my lack of patience and true trust. You have to get to the point where you are tired spending time trying to fix and repair what should not have happened in the first place.
God is never last minute; we only think he is because of the time frame that we have our mind set on. God is right on time no matter what we think. When it comes to relationship, business, or anything else he knows what we want but most importantly he knows what we need. It is up to us to position ourselves to be ready for all the things he has ALREADY PROMISED.
Understand that the life God called you to have will come to pass even if you had to pass thru really murky waters to get there.
