I cannot
tell you how long it has taken me to understand the power of my words. Even to
this day, I must catch myself when I am ready to speak out loud something that
I shouldn't even be thinking.
All of
us have done it, we've said things to others that we wish we could take
back. But what about the things we also say to ourselves? The lies of the
enemy that we repeat repeatedly. How many times have you caught yourself saying
"I can't" or other words of doubt. When faced with a hard
circumstance it can be so easy to bring your own self down, but you will be
amazed about how much the condition can improve by changing the words you speak
over it.
In
Proverbs 15:4 we are warned about our tongue and how we can speak life or death
over a situation. This week, I want to you pay attention to what you say.
Remember that the same way we can speak negatively we can also speak
positively. What we are speaking out loud reflects our heart so let’s make sure
those words are ones that edify, up lift and encourage not just ourselves but
the people around us. Don't spend another minute letting your tongue be a
weapon against you, but for you.
