Make me like you, break me down, build me new. Old life's thru,Lord just build me new"
"MAKE ME LIKE YOU." I was praying and worshiping this on my way home from ministry school and stopped to think about what it was that I was really saying. I was asking God to make me Christ like. There are many praise and worship songs that say this. Lord we just want to be like you, like your son,we wanna bear the fruit that you do....don't we?
When we ask to be made like Christ we have to remember that it won't be all good. It is not always rainbows and butterfly's. At one point in Time we will HAVE to in some way suffer for Christ. BUT if god gets the glory it will NEVER be in vain. To the world it may not look good. I have heard many people say that once they became a "Christian" there life got harder. THANK GOD FOR THIS. The devil does not attack things that have no purpose. Once we decide to put our life to the side, and pick up the cross we have entered into a war zone like never before. War zones NEVER look good. Think about when Christ died on the cross...that didn't look good. Matter of fact it is unimaginable to think about the details of how Christ suffered..BUT GOD knew what he was doing! In christ's obedience he set us free. He knew that God was getting the glory so he took the pain, he suffered,he cried..all for the glory of God. When we are obedient thru our trials and suffering he will turn the most horrible situation around. His glory overpowers any suffering we will have to go thru carrying our daily crosses.
It is no longer We who live, but Christ that lives in us. We will not be normal, we will not fit in,and no im sorry but it also won't be easy. BUT IF GOD GETS THE GLORY, he will not waste a pain and he will not waste a tear. Someone will come to know Christ because of our ability to be unselfish in our trails.
