These days, most people will renounce their faith for a relationship, a couple of dollars,or position. Some wouldn't even think twice about it. Well could you imagine believing so strongly in something,being so sure that you would give your life for it? What about one of your children? What about your whole entire family?
I am currently reading a book titled "Jesus Freaks". It is full of true stories of people who have given their life for the One who gave his life for them. It almost seems unreal some of these things that innocent people will endure because they will not renounce their faith in Jesus Christ.
Now, I'm not gonna lie, initially I thought why don't they renounce their faith so that they will live and repent about it later. I mean we all know that God is one who forgives and certainly he would understand you trying to save the life of your self, or even more important some one in your family.
Immediately I pictured Jesus on the cross and imagined what would have happened had he denied God,or who he was to God. They would have let him go, meaning he never would have died for all of our sins. Imagine all of us, unforgiven. Covered in sin with no grace,no mercy. It would be an ugly sight to see. Imagine Jesus never raising from the dead so that we may have eternal life. Imagine death being the end.
I now know how important it is to stand behind the one who stood up for you. The one who was mistreated,abused,and killed for YOU. If it means it takes a little longer to make it in Hollywood because you won't take certain roles, if it means your single a little while longer until you have the mate God has chosen for you, if it means you don't sell yourself short of Gods promises...even if it means your LIFE.
