"Sometimes I wonder,Why we care so much about the way we look And the way we talk, and the way we act And the clothes we bought, how much that cost? Does it even really matter? Cuz if life is an uphill battle,We all try to climb on the same old ladder,In the same boat with the same old paddle. Why so shallow, I'm just asking What's the pattern to the madness? "
I don't listen to much mainstream music anymore, but this song really caught my ear. I've always been a fan of B.O.B. simply because he never seemed like he was trying to fit into the "mold" that so many rappers are trying to do today. After I looked up the lyrics I liked the song even more because i realized that he was actually talking about something. One of the saddest things is when God gives you a talent and you use it to lead people away from him. So many artists use there God given talent to give glory to everything but him. I have watched many award shows where a rapper will get up and "thank God" for allowing him to win an award, for a song that glorfies sex, money, and material things. If God gives you a talent, use your platform to win souls. Use your stage wisely. You are being watched, you are a leader.
Where are you leading the souls?
